Bob Williams competed for the University of Oregon from 1963-1967, under legendary coach Bill Bowerman. As a coach, Williams coached Mike McGrath (1:48.5 for 800m in H.S.), Elijah Greer (1:47.6 for 800m in H.S.), and Lisa Karnop (Nye) to an American record in the women's steeplechase (9:52).
