To build a team culture that is of national caliber, Coach Doug Soles competes his athletes at national caliber meets such as the Manhattan Invite, Great American, and Desert Twilight meets.  The 230 athletes in his program have made the trek to NXN to run the open race, but after winning the sweepstakes race at Mt. Sac, they realized they could run with "just about anybody in the country," and qualified their girls to NXN after winning CIF.  He discusses some of the changes he made to the program to compete with perennial powerhouse, Saugus, and get to the national level.
